Kivuli Boys Shine at Jesus Cup Tournament

Boys from Kivuli centre participated in this year’s Jesus Cup Tournament held annually at Don Bosco Kuwinda in Karen from 1-22 February 2013. The Kivuli team scooped 3 top awards from the 3 games the participated in. The senior and junior soccer team reached the finals and settled for the top price. The basketball team emerged the top in its category.

Koinonia Reintegration 2013

In December 14 2013, 12 children were reintegrated, 7 boys from Kivuli and 5 girlsfrom Anita.All this activities were done at Shalom House.  Check the Video link below

Shalom House Hosts Kenya Careleavers Conference

A bee hive of activities took the better part of Shalom House on Decemebr 7th when a group of Careleavers from different charitable care institutions in Nairobi came together to delibarate on improving  the services offered in the centres. Koinonia old beneficiaries welfare association (KOBWA) together with kenya society of careleavers (KESCA) formed the steering commmitte and was well represented.

A Performance to the President

Children from Ndugu Mdogo centre had their first opportunity to entertain President Uhuru Kenyatta at a State house function on Sunday December 1. This was during the installation of the president as a patron of the Kenya scout association.

Despite the heavy down pour, the enthusiastic boys arrived at statehouse around 9 am. The routine procedure for security check and screening took about 2 hour. They settled at 11 am.

Simplifying Peace For Ndugu Mdogo Children

On November 16  children from Ndugu Mdogo  centre where taken through some peace training program organized by Children peace imitative Kenya and Koinonia action for peace. The theme being simplifying peace for children the Ndugu Mdogo Boys enjoyed the better part of the day with a number of activities lined up in the program.

2013 Life Skills Training

28 Koinonia children, 23 boys and 5 girls, who sat for their Kenya certificate for primary education (KCPE) this year, were from 18 to 21 November taken through their last session of life skills. This is aimed at equipping them with self management skills in preparation to their reintegration.
