Fundrasing - Help a Vulnerable Child Realize a Dream

Event Background

In Kenya, vulnerable children and especially those living in the streets endure great hardships and indignities in their daily lives. They are abandoned, detitute, poverty-ridden and necessities such as food, clothing and shelter are unaffordable luxuries to them. The key pillars of life such as family, quality education and long-term adult support and guidance are also unattainable illusions. Worse still, they ofteen have their most fundamental right - right to life - threatened and violated.

Despite the declaration of free primary education by the government of Kenya, these children who are unable to access the schools and are therefore condemned to an uncertain and hopeless future. Koinonia Community has a mission of reaching out to these children who are the most vulnerable in our society. In our quest to offer comprehensive care, we endevor to give all the children and equal opportunity in accessing education.

The children are enrolled into public primary and secondary schools for formal education. Other avenues of complementing the school efforts include talent development and involvement of educators and parents within the community context. This ensures that each shild achieves the best possible results based on individual potential. Our scholarship program ensures that the childen are assisted from informal education level, to primary, secondary or vocational training, up to the tertiary level.
